Is online bullying fun?
Cyber bullying may seem like a fun thing for the person that is doing the bullying, but this most likely leaves the victim feeling isolated and depressed. As a parent you need to take every possible action to prevent this kind of behavior affecting your child’s life.
Is cyber bullying a group effort?
In many instances cyber bullying can be a group effort. It may be initiated by one person, but before too long there are others that take it upon themselves to intimidate the victim. This can often leave a child feeling very "small" when a group of bullies are on the prowl.
Learn what to do
With proper planning, talking to your children about cyber bullying is not as difficult as you may think. In fact, taking the first steps to resolving or discovering this kind of activity will diminish the chances that they will encounter it in the first place.
Testimonials:
"When bullying is done over the Internet you think you can get away with it because you don't see the emotional reaction as if it were done face to face. You don't see the person crying and being upset. So it is much easier to be more mean and hurtful. When I received those e-mails It took me long to recover but thank to my Mom who found out right on time I'm back to being my self."
